NOURISH

 Bodywork

Custom massage is a culmination of many different modalities/types of bodywork. It is optimal to begin with a 1-hour custom massage as an overview to connect and communicate additional treatments that will be most beneficial for your health goals. Depending on the discomfort or service needed, once a month may be considered maintenance. More frequent sessions may be suggested at the beginning of treatment to address a long-standing dysfunction properly. Massage can be used intermittently when you feel you need it if an injury occurs, or through the cycling of symptoms. Massage is a gentle way to map out the body and begin a personal protocol for the highest quality of life. Learning to utilize your strengths in the most efficient processes through the practices of meditation, movement, cleansing, nutrition, and creating space to be in nature will bring balance.

What Clients Say...

Lori McDonald                Ayurvedic Practitioner*
RYT-200, LMT, AAT

Lori spent her 20s and 30s working as a sea captain, teaching sailing, racing, and delivering sailboats. She was studying meteorology and engineering at Embry-Riddle with a dream and ambition to work for NASA remotely in new technology development and apply her education to sail around the world in the Vendée Globe sailboat race. When her mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, her life changed course, and she began studying Eastern medicine, searching for relief for her mother and best friend.

Her approach to medicine is prescriptive with the different modalities she has studied, and she is passionate about collaboration with practitioners of complementary disciplines. Lori also utilizes tools from massage therapy, acupressure, Ayurveda, yoga, auricular acupuncture, meditative practices, and technology for pain management and anxiety relief in dentistry.

She likes to think she became a ‘systems engineer’ for client wellness and is a perpetual student. *She is finishing her Ayurvedic practitioner clinicals and prerequisites for Acupuncture school. She enjoys trying to cook impossible recipes, hiking with her dog Maggie, and dreaming about one day living on a sailboat again.
